Was easter sunday so everyone received an egg.
Watched a really touching video clip, about Kelvin Soh's life. It's a true story.
Here's what it was about:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he was very young, his mother left the family. And his father was a drug addict, so his father was always being hounded by the police. His grandmother was the one looking after him. At the age of 11, he was curious about drugs, so he tried one of his father's drugs. When his father found out, he scolded Kelvin really badly. Threatening him that if he ever takes drugs again, he would throw him down from the 10th storey. Kelvin got scared, knowing that his father is the type of person who will do what he says. When Kelvin was 13, his father was arrested and was inprisoned. At this moment, Kelvin thought: "why did my father scold me and banned me from taking drugs, when he himself is taking it?" So, Kelvin once again took drugs. But this time, he got addicted to it.. Time passed by and Kelvin grew up. He was still addicted to drugs, and despite his grandma's advice, he still continued taking it. Occasionally, the police will come and take Kelvin away for a period of time. The shortest being 8 hours, and the longest being 7 months. This was so common to their lives, that both Kelvin and his grandma was used to it. There was one final time the police came to arrest Kelvin. And this time, he was sentenced to 5 years of jail and 3 strokes of the cane. After he was caned, he was put into his cell to rest. He was feeling bored, so he asked the officer for a book to read. And the book the officer gave him, was a chinese version of the bible. He opened the bible, and the page he opened to had a bookmark with the shape of the cross. There was a verse on the bookmark. I can't remember exactly what the verse was but it was something like that: I punish you because I love you. I discipline you because you are my son. "I" being GOD. This was the gist of the verse. After Kelvin read that verse, he couldn't help but think that this verse was talking to him. So, he confessed his sins to GOD and asked for his forgivness. The next time his grandma came to visit him, he told her that he would change. As his grandma has heard this sentence many times with no outcome, she didn't believe him. He then explained that he has accepted GOD into his life, and will change this time. His grandma replied in hokkien: "If you really do change this time because of this GOD, then i too would accept GOD and my god." Throught the next few years after he was released, Kelvin really did change, and stopped taking drugs. His grandma was amazed, so she too became a Christian. Kelvin started making CDs and movies about his lifestory, so that others would know of his experience with GOD. Last time, whenever Kelvin was arrested, his grandma's friends would ask:"How is Kelvin? We haven't seen him in a long time." Then his grandma would reply:"he's overseas." While is actual truth, he was in jail. But now, her friends would ask:"Is Kelvin behaving himself now?" His grandma would reply:"You have never seen his CDs or movies yet?" Also, the church Kelvin went to was where he met his wife. His wife did not despise him for his past, and she also did not mind that he only finished Primary school education. So, his grandma would tell her friends in hokkien jokingly:"You follow GOD, and women will follow you."

LIFE IS A GIFT
Today - before you say any unkind word, think of someone who can't speak
Before you complain about the taste of your food, think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about you husband or wife, think about someone who is crying out to GOD for a companion.
Today before you complain about life, think about someone who dies to early on this earth.
Before you c0mplain about your children, think about people who want children but are barren.
Before you complain about your dirty house, think about someone who is living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you have to drive, think about someone who has the walk to same distance.
When you are tired and are complaining about your job, think about people who are jobless or are disabled, and wish they had your job.
Before pointing the finger or condemning others, remember that none of us are without sin.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile onto your face and think: you're alive and still around!
